PARISH OF WHITWORTH (HEALEY AND WHITWORTH), WHITWORTH TOWN COUNCIL

Due to the resignation of Mr David Bradbury in December 2011, a vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for Whitworth Town Council.

A notice of vacancy was posted in early January; as no more than 10 electors requested an election, the Council must now look to co-opt a new member onto the Town Council.

If you would like to put yourself forward as a candidate for the position of Town Councillor for the ward of Healey and Whitworth, please submit a letter to Mrs Karen Douglas, Town Clerk for Whitworth Town Council at the address below, to arrive by 2pm on Tuesday 31 January 2012.

Please state clearly in your letter your full home address (please note that candidates must live within 3 miles of the Whitworth town boundary; any applications from outside of this geographical area will be automatically discounted). Whitworth Town Council will co-opt a new member onto the Council by way of a vote at the meeting of the Town Council on Thursday 9 February, 7.30pm, to be held in the Council Chamber, The Riverside (Civic Hall), Market Street, Whitworth, Lancashire, OL12 8DP.

For further information, please contact Karen Douglas on 01706 852018 / email info@whitworth.gov.uk (standard office hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 2.30pm).
