Whitworth Tourism and Leisure Committee along with The Ashcroft are planning a huge celebration for the coronation of King Charles III with a fun filled FREE family event on Sunday 7th May 2023. The event will begin at 12 noon in The Ashcroft carpark. The line-up will include The Jackson Kay Band, Pub Lunch, Harriet Williams and Lareena Mitchell. Thank-you to John Meek for providing the stage and to Nigel Pickering for offering his services providing the PA system.
From 12 until 4pm, the car park of The Ashcroft will be cordoned off. Wood Fired Pizza will be in attendance together with Lancashire Hospitality Co-Operation providing hot food in their Bombay Brew Kebab Truck and the Ashcroft bar will be open for liquid refreshments. There will also be an Arts and Craft Fair indoors, featuring a variety of artisan stalls in the Ashcroft main hall. There will also be children’s activities and colouring and crafts at the TLC stall under the pink gazebo as well as face painting and glitter tattoos.
Everyone is encouraged to come in Fancy Dress for the day with a Fancy Dress Parade being held during the event.
The very popular PA leisure will be back by popular demand providing inflatables, a children's ride and a candy floss refreshment stall. Ice Dream Experience will also be providing refreshments with their very own ice cream tricycle!
