Covid Unsung Stars Awards

Mayors of Whitworth’s Local Covid Unsung Stars

*** EVENT SOLD OUT ***

Residents are invited to join the Mayor of Whitworth, Councillor Maureen Jones on Saturday 14th May at The Ashcroft (Civic Hall) for her last event before she passes the chains over to the new Mayor, Councillor Janet Whitehead.

The Mayor said “I was inspired by all the community and the way they helped each other during the pandemic.  Some people have already received recognition, but others are our unsung stars.  I want to hold an evening to thank and celebrate local people who held the community together during this difficult time.”
“I will present awards to residents who either volunteered, made and delivered meals, helped charities and worked on the front line. I would like to thank RRG Toyota Rochdale, Harden Transport and my other sponsors for making this event possible.”

The night will start with doors opening from 6:30pm and a welcome drink upon arrival, followed by Lord’s famous pie and peas supper.   Guests will be entertained by MC Andy Kelly and award-winning male vocalist Joel Brown, we hope to see everyone there.

Tickets are priced at £9.50 per person (£7 for children aged 9 and under) available from Whitworth Town Council Offices located at The Ashcroft and online at http://www.whitworth.gov.uk/events/Covid_Unsung_Stars_Awards for a 50p per ticket booking fee.
