Parish Lengthsperson Job Vacancy


An unusual vacancy has arisen in Whitworth for a part time Parish Lengthsperson.  

The purpose of the role is to keep the "length" of Whitworth neat and tidy. The hours are 7.5 hours per week on average but the actual hours can be mutually agreed with the Town Clerk and can be flexible to fit the needs of the person and the position.  The post is paid at living wage and training will be provided as necessary to help the role be completed.  The ideal candidate will live in the local area and have suitable transport. 


This is a varied post which includes, but is not limited to, maintaining Town Council property, fixing fencing and stiles, carrying out emergency repairs, cleaning noticeboards, watering and maintaining flower beds, grass cutting and strimming of vegetation, litter control, leaf clearance and cleaning out of blocked gullies, conservation projects and schemes within the community, liase with the local community, farmers, landowners and official organisations to enable works to be carried out effectively and with the necessary consent.
